We are an organization set out to help the Christian Village, Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa. Abby Speicher, Sarah Speicher, Emily Speicher, Cecilia Gutner, and Rose Dorsey have founded our organization. We took a trip to the Christian Village in June of 2008. We spent three weeks working in orphanages around the city of Kumasi. We stayed in the Christian Village and became very familiar with the residents. The village was founded to help extreme poverty stricken people in Ghana. Stephen Danzo is the gardener in the village. He lives in the village with his wife and four children. Steven earns 80 dollars a month. 60 dollars of that money is paid for his children's schooling. 12 dollars of that money is for their lunches at school. That leaves Steven and his family 8 dollars for the rest of the month. Julie Danzo, Steven's wife, is an amazing seamstress. In the three weeks we spent in Ghana, she crafted 95 handbags and purses. We brought those bags back to the US and sold them to friends and family. All of the profits went directly to the Christian Village. We have dedicated the past two years to having fundraisers to help the people of the Christian Village. This is a great cause and we thank everyone for their support.
We are a 100% non-profit organization. All products sold, all funds raised, all income derived goes to families struggling to meet the daily challenges of life in Africa.
An African proverb says: If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him to fish, you feed him for a life time.
